It is obtained by polymerizing glycerol with propylene oxide and ethylene in the presence of a catalyst. With the polyether polyol and the isocyanate, flexible polyurethanes are produced that are used in the manufacture of automobile seats, mattresses, and rigid polyurethanes that are used in thermal and acoustic insulation systems.
